Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, Lynard Skynard, and some Rammstein is good. Fuck rap, and fuck hip-hop.

What kind of rap do you want? Something with meaning or just some good old gangsta rap?

I just haven’t downloaded any music in a while.
Try UGK, Outkast, or Talib Kweli. Those are some of the more recent artists’ songs I downloaded.

Off the top of my head I’ll just list some of the songs I like. Some are very deep and meaningful, some not so much, but at least talk about stuff besides fucking hoes and shooting snitches. I don’t know how many of these you already know, hopefully I’ll give you some new stuff. Many of these artists aren’t too popular so it might be hard to find some of the songs. I strongly suggest getting a downloading program called SoulSeek. Google it and find the site to download it, you can find a lot of hart-to-find music on there. I think the website is like slsk.net or something. Or you could use torrents if thats your thing
Stuff in red text are my personal favorites.
By Brother Ali:
Forest Whitaker - Good for Self Esteem,
Waheeda’s Hands
Uncle Sam Goddamn
Bad Ma Fucka
Room With a View
Back Stage Pacin’
Sleepwalker - I like the beat
Freedom Ain’t Free
Self Taught
Letter From the Government
Truth Is
By Tonedeff:
Porcelain
Optimist
Politics
Loyal
Archetype
Quotables
By Hieroglyphics:
Pacific Heights - I like this song mostly because its about the place I live; San Francisco
Let It Roll
At the Helm
After Dark
Dune Methane
Powers That Be
By Sage Francis:
Makeshift Patriot - Probably one of the most meaningful songs I’ve heard if you REALLY listen to the words...try getting stoned and then listening to it
Sea Lion
Personal Journalist - Cool Beat
Try It
Got Up This Morning - Cool Beat
By Jedi Mind Tricks:
Uncommon Valor: A Vietnam Story - The second half of the song is one of my favorite verses ever, especially since the guy rapping it, RA Ruggedman is telling the true story of his own father and fate of his brother
Animal Rap - I like the beat
Shadow Business - Pretty Meaningful
Scary of the Crucifix
And So It Burns - Cool Beat
By Binary Star:
KGB - the beat is like a communist chant...odd
Immortal Technique - A lot of people seem to like Immortal Technique; I personally think any message he has is diluted by constant and unnecessary anger towards white people/The United States. The only song that I REALLY like by him is Peruvian Coke, except for the end because it perverts the whole meaning of the song into some stupid shit about crack dealers not being guilty. Some songs by him:
Peruvian Coke
The 4th Branch
Freedom of Speech - I like the beat
The Cause of Death
Dances with the Devil - Weird and really sad
Bin Laden
Shit I’ve spent way too much time on this post.
Anyways, I hope you like the music I like.
Love Always, Boondoqqle (Or Boondoggle, whatever you want to call me)

Oh geeze...shut up already. Let me guess, you hate rap for one of the following bs reasons:
You think all hip-hop is about gangster shit about shootin niggaz and slappin hoes
OR
You think that rap takes no talent since they don’t, for the most part, use real instruments.
Nothing could be further from the truth and this is not up for argument because this thread is asking for suggestions, not asking which is better. You’re a troll trying to start arguments and if this continue you will be banned for that.
I hope I don’t seem to hostile, but I would like it if we could JUST ONCE have a legitimate discussion about hip-hop without some jackass coming in and telling us that it sucks. I hope you can understand.
