Allright, so I haven’t made an egg in forever, and I wanted to make a panda stencil, so I took pics and made an egg!
K, first off materials: -an overhead sheet (or anything other clear plastic sheet.)
-an image you want to stencil
-exacto knife
-spray paint (you could use paint pens, but i didnt do it that way)
-gloves(optional)
Step 1:
K first of all, you need to get your picture that you want to stencil. I used a simple enjoi panda because its alot easier to stencil and i like the panda.
Now open it up in MSpaint, and enlarge it to however big you want it to be.
Step 2:
Now you want to either:
A) print it onto your overhead sheet (easiest way)
B) print it onto a sheet of paper then lay your plastic sheet over it.
C) (the way i had to do it cause my printers messed up) trace it off your screen.
Step 3:
Now that you have the picture printed/traced, start cutting it out.
***NOTE*** Take your time while cutting the stencil out because overhead sheets are especially brittle and tend to split really easily. And plus, if you take your time, your stencil will look that much better.
Step 4:
Now that your stencil is cut out,
We can start applying it.
Get the object you want to stencil on, and tape the stencil to it.
Once taped, you can either:
A) make it a single colour stencil
B) use my lazy technique and make it a coloured stencil.
For A, just spray whatever colour from about 30cm (~1 foot) away and "dust" it so that it doesnt run.
If thats what you did, your done! Let it dry and marvel at how artistic you can notbe :P.
For B, tape every part that you want to be a different coloured with its own layer
Step 5:
Now start dusting the stencil and letting the colour dry for a litte while.
Now peel the tape off the next part you want to colour next.
Make sure you have a piece of paper or cardboard handy to cover the already painted areas so you don’t spray it.
Now repeat those steps till your done.
Another example:
And Voila! You’ve finished.
Now you can go ahead and try to do a more complex stencil.
