Aluminium powder is a key ingredient in flash powder and other pyrotechnic compostitions the simplest way to get aluminium powder in australia
is 2 open a etch-a-sketch u know those rectangle red plastic things with two knobs that u turn 2 draw pictures with.
A great site 4 pyrotechnic compositions is:
http//www.wfvisser.dds.nl/compoDB.html#chapter1
this site has over 300 pyrotechnic compositions
that work and have been tested
Feb 09, 2007 9:27 pm - No. That shit is barley aluminum powder in there, it has a think layer of coating, primarily aluminum oxide, and wax. That will SUCK for flash. Trust me, if you can see the particles, its too large.
Feb 09, 2007 10:02 pm - this is such a wasteful and useless way to get Al powder. You’d definitely be better off with some sandpaper and a piece of metal (the particles will be smaller and you’ll end up with more in the end).
Feb 09, 2007 10:34 pm - philly dude this makes great flash powder, you just need to pt the powder on a dryer pad then put the edges out of a container then put a cap on and shake collect the shit on the bottom throw away the plastic beeds
Feb 09, 2007 11:35 pm - Realise this stupid Mofos If u r a cheapskate like me then this is easy and it takes way 2 long to get enough al powder with a piece of sandpaper and a chunk of aluminium
Feb 10, 2007 3:28 am - uumm ? is it just me or do the links not work ?

"good flash" is all relative, what I call good might be shit to someone, and what you call grean flash might be like good black powder to me. It depends on which oxidizer you’re using, if you’re using KNO3, then it will be shit. I have opened an etch-a-sketch. The aluminum powder is spherical, and about 200-300 mesh. Not good for flash. I am surprised it even burnt at all. To show you how slow my "flash" burnt with this shitty aluminum powder is, it burned like kno3/sugar just mixed very lightly and powdered, not melted.
Feb 10, 2007 3:02 pm - did you even read what i said, thats stuf is like 2 micron. those 200-300 mesh powder are plastice balls, you have to filter the AL out
