There were a couple of (more than a couple, actually, it got to be like a small crowd) people on this site awhile back--this was like with one of my other acounts--that are people I know in so-called "real life". This particularly happened with my blog, not so much with eggs that I posted. It’s always nice to run into a real-life friend on a website that one enjoys, is it not? And most of the time that was the case, but there were a couple of people who got put in a bad state of mind by some of the things I said and then it got a couple of others all whipped up, and before I knew it walking away from the computer was NOT solving the problem anymore. It gets to be like this "OFF WITH HER HEAD!!!" type of situation--like for example, the stuff I said in my one entry about working at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Denver. That shit really happened, and it was pretty fucking awful--that’s why I left that rude comment under the article, right? Nurses and doctors--some of them are nice, but MOST of them are shitheels. Stealing dope from sick people...? I’m sorry, I’m a total lowlife but I WON’T FUCKING DO THAT. It might be that eventually one of the stupid cows that I used to work with see that and think I’m talking about them (which I was), but since I didn’t name any names, they can’t do shit, right? But if I allow comments under the blog entry where I diss them all to shreds then that gives them the opportunity to fuck with me some more, like they didn’t already. No thanks. For (another) example, there was this one crazy bitch used to stalk me WAYYYYY a long time ago who found me on RE a few years ago and started sending me these freaky IMs and stuff. (When I say "stalk" in this case I mean she used to REALLY stalk me. She was like mentally ill, right? She used to sleep in the alley behind my house when I lived in Denver; she would come to my band’s shows and sit at the bar and talk to herself. It was creepy.) Now I KNOW that just fixing it so that comments can’t be left on a blog is not going to stop crazy people from fucking with me--however, it seemed that was where a lot of the shit started. One guy would start and then another one would start, and then pretty soon it was just a fucking mess that I didn’t want to deal with, people emailing me death threats and so on. It was like a domino effect. So I figure if I keep people from commenting, if they want to say something they can fucking send me a PM or something and then I will get to talk to them more directly, and things won’t get so fucked up. (Sorry about all the cussing. I am withdrawing from heroin at present and not feeling all that wonderful.) Don&rsqu ;t take it personally, is my advice. I’m not doing this to piss you off, I’m doing it so I can KEEP from getting pissed off. It’s one thing when some stranger on the internet says, "Yeah well you suck and I’m going to come out to where you live and put my boot in your ass!" and completely another when some person you know or knew in real life gets bent out of shape about something you put in a blog and starts calling you--or better yet, calling people you know to complain about you. And if you can think of a better way to deal with the problem, I’d love to hear it! I am sick and tired of hearing how "great it is" to have a black president. It seems EVERYONE on the news is talking about his skin color. In my local middle school, I heard that the kids spent the afternoon coloring drawings of the president. WTF? Maybe teach the kids something other than the importance of skin color, like, I dunno, it’s lack of importance? It seems to be in the way of actual learning. I have no problem with his skin color, but apparently, a lot of people think it’s great that he is now president because "we were due for a colored president". They say, "It’s about time!" Skin color shouldn’t enter into the equation. Anyone who voted for or against him based on the color of his skin is a fucking racist. I voted for him, but not because he is black. I feel he was the best choice for the country because of the choices he said he will make. If my neighbor (who I happen to dislike very much) was running for president and I thought he would do a better job than the other runners, I’d vote for my asshole neighbor. I’d put my dislike of his snobby demeanor, annoying kids, and "holier than thou" attitude aside, and do what I felt was honestly best for our country. That’s what we’re SUPPOSED to do. I got in an argument with a friend about it. He was saying that Obama was the best choice. I said, "Would you have voted for him if he was white? He said "No". I went off. I told him to try saying that in West Philadelphia where I was born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days, chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’ all cool and all, shootin’ some b-ball outside the school when a couple of guys who were up to no good, started making trouble in my neighborhood.
